Whoever does not love does not know God Because God is love. 1 John 4:8
What it means: I thought this scripture was very fitting for this week. There is SO much hate in our world, in our nation and even in our neighborhood. Let’s do our part to not add to that. Let’s do our part to rid any hate in our lives to make this world a better place. If you have a relationship with the Lord, there is NO room to have hate in your heart. Take that into deep thought for a second, GOD does not HATE. If you hate, you do not know God!! If you have hate in your heart toward anything, pray to release it. Remove the stubborn “I’m right” or “I’m entitled” and just find the love. I think a lot of the time we tell ourselves we are entitled to feel this hate, which is not true. We are entitled to feel LOVE! Find comfort in knowing God craves your attention. Don’t give you attention to the Devil and act in any way that may hurt someone let alone hurting someone on purpose. A few words to add to the “hate” category…. bitterness, jealousy, anger, entitlement, envy, deceitfulness, vindictive and cursing/fowl language. I could go on and on. We are broken humans, it is natural to have these emotions sneak up on us but if you have LOVE in your heart…you will be free before they become who you are and not use these emotions to do harm to others. When they sneak up, realize it and don’t let them overpower you. Love for the Lord is way stronger. Love conquerors all. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8.
Love your family most importantly, if you have problems going on with them right now, FIX IT.. because life is WAY to short to have hate within your own family. My family had a devastation happen just two years ago and I cannot tell you the regret we all had for not loving 24/7 when we were about to lose someone. Don’t let your tiny problem compared to God’s love, restrict you of your family’s love. If we all love our families and use them as accountability, we can start limiting the hate. Love your neighbor/strangers because you never know what others are going through and what impact your kindness OR your hate will have on them. What if that person you were just rude to was on the edge? Love your enemies, the bible tells us to. I know it is a hard concept to imagine if you are not there yet, but remember we are NOT to hate, we are to LOVE. It truly makes you a bigger person, don’t choose the easy route of hate. This doesn’t mean you need to be best friends with everyone, but you can find in your heart to still love them behind the scene and not cause harm or talk bad about them or heck in our day and age send nasty text messages. I had someone tell me that my bible scripture postings on here are fake and that my name on this website saying I’m sweet isn’t “truly me”. I can’t imagine the hate in someones heart to feel the need to say something like that, but I still love them. I truly found a place in my heart to pray for them very often and know they are probably experiencing pain to try to inflict that pain upon me. I know it was the Devil testing me to see if he could overpower my love with his hate. It could be so easy to listen to him whispering lies telling me, I should hate this person for spending time to try to break me down, but instead I release it and pray. People’s words about me don’t change who I am, so don’t let them change who you are! Reflect back with LOVE! We have so much power to choose our own actions and reactions. That’s why politics these days make me so mad, people take everything personally instead of rising above and not letting small words affect you. Let’s stop going out of our way to increase hate and start going out of our way to increase the love. Don’t tell people they have no self worth, tell people they have a huge self worth whether they are big and small! Can we all please do our part to remove the hate in this world? Don’t add to it. Please for the sake of our children growing up in this world, let’s do our part to not add to the hate.
Challenge: If you are suffering from not feeling love in your heart toward anyone in your life, try releasing it. Try listening to the LORD not the DEVIL. Pray deeply for the forgiveness in your heart and for LOVE to replace your hate. Pay it forward. Go do something nice for a random stranger today and say, I’m spreading love. Let me know your stories!
Prayer: Lord, hear our cry. We are a mess down here. We have turned to let hate run our lives rather than love. We shame our families and we murder. I pray for your love to shower onto us and cover all this hate. I pray to work in me and everyone to do everything we can do to spread LOVE. We are broken without you and love. There are so many good loving people in this world, I pray for those to rise up. I pray for those to become the leaders of this world and impact good change. I pray for those to have the courage to continue loving and cover more and more hate. I pray for those who have hate in their heart to crave you. Amen.
In Love, SA
